My fondest memory as a child was spending time with my family. Yes it sounds so simple, but truly were the best times I can remember growing up. This holiday season I look forward to building on our family traditions to make life long impression on my children. One of the things we haven’t done, but have wanted to do is an Advent Calendar and Elf on the Shelf, but the non traditional way. So we came up with the Random Act of Kindness Advent Calendar that our Elf on the Shelf will be bringing to us each morning. Our elf will appear each morning counting down the days left to Christmas and will suggest a Random Act of Kindness for us to complete as a family (ie bring a baked good to the Fire Station, donate outgrown clothes, let someone ahead of you in line, etc). No shenanigans here, partly because I don’t think my husband and I are creative enough to plan something so clever each evening for our Elf to do.
My intentions for the Random Act of Kindness Advent Calendar is to bring our family together through service, show and tell my son the greater meaning of Christmas, and the self reward through the act of kindness. In the spirit of Christmas I am offering our Advent Calendar Cards as a free printable. The printable is a match made to coordinate with our Santa Stationery and comes as a set of 30 cards (25 suggested Random Act of Kindness + 5 blank cards to fill in). You can use the cards in so many different ways. I intentionally did not date the cards to allow the flexibility of planning which Act is best suited for the days of the week. There is plenty of room on the cards (front or back) to draw in your own count down; which is what I plan to do with ours.
I’d love to hear how you plan to use your set of cards. Download here. We look forward to hearing from you!
Enjoy! And Happy Holidays.
